Ministry with children and young people
Resources, reflections and ideas
I am eager to join individuals, families, parishes, deaneries and dioceses on their journey in ministry with children and young people. I have a passion for seeing new work develop, supporting & resourcing existing work, helping to build teams and, of course, working directly with children and young people themselves.
My heart is to see churches working effectively to offer family ministry which builds discipleship in all ages; with teams that are equipped to serve and to grow and with children and young people who develop a living faith as part of a church family.
From my work in nurseries and primary schools, to a role as a Cathedral education officer, as well as three years serving as Diocesan Children and Youth work coordinator in West Wales I have a wealth of experience and insight which I can share with those engaged in this ministry, or who wish to be.
Alongside a degree in theology and a Masters in practical theology, I also have a diploma in youth work and 10 years experience as a practitioner.
My current role as Children and Young people’s editor for ROOTS for churches also gives me a particular specialist knowledge about lectionary-based provision for children and young people.
Some examples of ways in which I can support you in this ministry;
· Leading workshops or training events, e.g. a vision day for lay workers/volunteers.
· Setting up new work with children and/or young people, e.g. Messy Church, youth group.
· Developing resources for any aspect of your children and youth ministry, e.g. planning for an After School Club.
· Taking your ministry to a new level, e.g. running a Holiday Club for the first time.
Email email@example.com with your passion or project and we can arrange a ‘phone call to discuss how I can support you.
